M.ED, BCBA., LBA

Co-Founder & Program Director

I am passionate about unlocking the potential of every learner. As an Educator, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and Clinical Director of The Learning Spot therapy services, I have spent over fifteen years dedicated to empowering children with learning differences. I firmly believe that with the right support, individualized programs, and engaging activities, every person—regardless of disability or age—can learn, grow, and thrive.

My experience includes home and clinic-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, classroom support for children with intellectual disabilities and learning differences, and a strong focus on evidence-based, multi-sensory learning. I strive to create enriching experiences that engage all senses and build on each individual's strengths. Additionally, I have trained and supervised therapists, developed Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and conducted Functional Behavior Assessments, in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Now, I am embarking on an exciting new chapter with Aspiring Steps, a program dedicated to enriching the lives of young adults with disabilities. I am thrilled to begin this journey and am committed to fostering a supportive, empowering community where participants can reach their full potential.

I hold an Associate of Science (2007), a Bachelor of Science in Child Development (2009), and a Masters in Special Education with an Autism Intervention Certificate (2012) from the University of North Texas. In 2016, I completed my coursework to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

I am a mother of two wonderful young adult daughters. My eldest, Niki, is developmentally delayed, and her journey has taught our family invaluable lessons in resilience, adaptability, and unconditional love. Like many parents in similar situations, my husband and I have navigated the complexities of special education, therapies, and the balance of personal and social life. As our children grow, adulthood becomes a new and unique challenge for them. Through Aspiring Steps, I hope to create a community that empowers Niki and others like her, working alongside professionals, parents and their special children to make the transition into adulthood as enriching and fulfilling as possible.

Professionally, I have an MS in Mechanical Engineering from UT Austin, TX, and spent 15 years in business leadership roles at GE Healthcare. For the past eight years, I have run my own healthcare management consulting practice.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, art, traveling, and staying committed to health and fitness.
